FC ART – WHEN FASHION MEETS ART

FASHION CLINIC CONCEPT STORE, Lisbon, Portugal

In an attempt to establish a link between Fashion and Art, the Fashion Clinic Concept Store opens its doors to art exhibitions and presents “FC Art – when Fashion meets Art.”  Portuguese artist João Louro inaugurates the event with his site-specific project at the Fashion Clinic store located at the Tivoli Forum, in Lisbon, and can be viewed from May 23rd until July 28th.
Fashion Clinic is hoping that these exhibitons will reduce people’s distance both from Fashion and from Art, benefiting from a unique store space and providing their customers with a new and unexpected experience. The choice of Louro as the inaugural artist is mainly due to the way he approaches art, where he highlights the importance of the viewer that, in his opinion, completes the artwork. This event, in Louro’s words, brings new viewers to art. “In the current world, art has gotten out of art galleries and has found new audiences. That was the challenge: bringing Art to Fashion and simultaneously bringing Fashion to Art.” The exhibition will show three of his works: two works from the “Blind Image” collection and a neon piece entitled “Love”. The three works fit well with the Concept Store philosophy, meshing harmoniously and mutually complementing each other – Art – Fashion – together in a single space. The Men’s store at Av. Liberdade, 192A will also be showing one of Louro’s works, a work entitled “Label#2″ (sin, virtue, egoism), thereby creating a link between the brand’s male and female customers.
