The self as multiple is the third temporary exhibition of the MACAM Collection and presents works by portuguese and international artists who, through different languages of contemporary art, explore the notions of body, identity, and perception.

Rejecting the idea of self as sole and immutable, this exhibition proposes a reflection on the ontological questions of what it means to be, to exist, and how we present ourselves in relation to others. Bringing together works of painting, photography, installation, and sculpture, The self as multiple is part of the debate on the subject, its mirroring, and otherness.

O eu como múltiplo é a terceira exposição temporária da Coleção MACAM e apresenta obras de artistas portugueses e estrangeiros que, através de diferentes linguagens da arte contemporânea, exploram as noções de corpo, identidade e perceção.

Recusando a ideia de um eu único e imutável, esta exposição propõe um pensamento em torno das questões ontológicas do que significa ser, existir e a forma como nos apresentamos na relação com o outro. Reunindo obras de pintura, fotografia, instalação e escultura, The self as multiple inscreve-se no debate sobre o sujeito, o seu espelhamento e a alteridade.
