Galeria P28 – Associação de Desenvolvimento Criativo e Artístico (Gallery P28 – Creative and Artistic Development Association) ends the year 2024 with the double exhibition and editorial project “Interview: João Louro”, a moment where the protagonist is questioned by artists with mental illness, patients of Júlio de Matos Hospital, with whom P28 has been carrying out continuous training and programming work since 2001. A double project, too, in the sense that it is accompanied by the presentation of the exhibition Praça de Táxis e um Aeroporto, with works by João Louro, José Jorge Monteiro and Cláudia R. Sampaio.

THE INTERVIEW consists of an exchange of roles between the invited artist and resident artists, patients of Hospital Júlio de Matos. In this creative process, the invited artist acts as the matrix – the model to be reproduced. And the interview itself is also seen as aesthetic support, as it occupies part of the intervention. In short, INTERVIEW is an exercise in learning and experimentation, a mix of creations in which the agent appears as the primary participant in every action that unfolds. THE INTERVIEW is part of the epicenter of the work developed by P28 since its foundation, the promotion of contact between resident artists and invited professional artists.

INTERVIEW’s history includes a set of publications and a cycle of exhibitions in Pavilion 31 that result from dialogue between artists and patients resident of P28 studios.

A Galeria P28 – Associação de Desenvolvimento Criativo e Artístico finaliza o ano de 2024 com o duplo projeto expositivo e editorial “Entrevista: João Louro”, um momento onde o protagonista é interpelado por artistas, utentes do Hospital Júlio de Matos, com os quais a P28 tem desenvolvido um trabalho continuado de formação e programação desde 2001. Duplo projeto, também, no sentido em que é acompanhado pela apresentação da exposição Praça de Táxis e um Aeroporto, com obras de João Louro, José Jorge Monteiro e Cláudia R. Sampaio.

A ENTREVISTA consiste numa troca de papéis entre artista convidado e artistas residentes. Neste processo criativo, o Artista convidado assume-se como a matriz – o modelo a ser reproduzido. E a própria entrevista assume-se, igualmente, como suporte estético, enquanto ocupa uma parte da intervenção. Em suma, ENTREVISTA é um exercício de aprendizagem e experimentação, um misto de criação em que o agente aparece como interveniente primordial em toda a ação que se desenrola. A ENTREVISTA insere-se no epicentro do trabalho desenvolvido pela P28 desde a sua fundação, a promoção do contacto entre artistas doentes aí residentes e artistas profissionais convidados.

O histórico de ENTREVISTA contempla um conjunto de publicações e um ciclo de exposições no Pavilhão 31 que resultam do diálogo entre artistas e residentes dos ateliês de Artes Plásticas da P28.
