A Syllabary to Reconstruct is the motto for a national project, led by the City of Coimbra, developed within the scope of the Portuguese Network of Contemporary Art.

This project includes a partnership between the Municipality of Coimbra, the Municipalities of Óbidos and Elvas and Culturgest, enabling the circulation of a set of 120 works by 80 national and foreign artists, from the State Contemporary Art Collection on deposit at the CACC, the new acquisitions (2019-2022) from the State Contemporary Art Collection, works from the Caixa Geral de Depósitos Collection and the António Cachola Collection.

After Coimbra, three other exhibitions will be presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Elvas, at the NovaOgiva Gallery in Óbidos, and at Culturgest in Porto.

The curatorial project is designed based on the literary universe for two reasons. The first, linked to the chosen theme, which presents works demonstrating a transition between the visible and the sayable (the image and the word), the other reason arises from the inclusion of the concept of narrativity (the condition for the presence of a narrative potential in the works) in the sense that a main narrative is created, common to the four spaces, to which are added embedded narratives, with different pieces in each of the places.

Um Silabário por Reconstruir é o mote para um projeto nacional, liderado pelo Município de Coimbra, desenvolvido no âmbito da Rede Portuguesa de Arte Contemporânea.

Este projeto inclui uma parceria do Município de Coimbra com os Municípios de Óbidos e Elvas e com a Culturgest, viabilizando a circulação de um conjunto de 120 obras de 80 artistas nacionais e estrangeiros, da Coleção de Arte Contemporânea do Estado em depósito no CACC, as novas aquisições (2019-2022) da Coleção de Arte Contemporânea do Estado, obras da Coleção Caixa Geral de Depósitos e da Coleção António Cachola.

Depois de Coimbra, três outras exposições serão apresentadas no Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Elvas, na Galeria NovaOgiva, em Óbidos, e na Culturgest, no Porto.
